Upgrade Process: MaxDB v7.5 shows "-24875,ERR_NEEDADMI ... not a member of DB admin group"

Hi there,

 

when I try to run the command "c:\sapdb\programs\pgm\dbmcli.exe" -R "c:\sapdb\sdb\db" inst_reg -k \"c:\sapdb\sdb\db\" I receive the error message "-24875,ERR_NEEDADMI: The operating system user is not a member of the database administrators group."

 

Looking through SCN I found SAP note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/889251 which addresses this issue perfectly. But the solution does not help in my case. I also checked for a user group on another and newer MaxDB server: There is a group called "SDB Operators" but checking the SAP website it says that this group is only used by MaxDB >= 7.7.

 

My Operating System is WIndows 2008 R2 64 Bit, I am logged in as local Administrator.

 

Any clues?

Hi there Experts,

 

While installing the trial version of ABAP Trial 7.02 on Windows 7 64bit I get the following @ phase 19 of 24 (Import MaxDB Statistics)

 

( Last error reported by the step :Error during execution of command identifier 'EXEC_SQL_CMD' : com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.JDBCDriverException: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sapdb://MYl-PC/NSP [Restart required]

 

Any help or advice is highly appreciated.

Systemcopy or System Refresh after Dual stack Split

Hallo,

 

I have the following question: We have a GTS Global Trade system Landscape in our company. The GTS system was a Dual Stack system before and we made a Dual stack Split on the system Landscape. Now wa want to make a system copy of the production system to the quality assurance system.

Is it possible to make now only a system refresh via Backup Restore or must I perform a complete system copy with SWPM (homogeneous systemcopy)  ?

After i have exported the content server from server 2003 to server 2008, i'm unable to read the documents that are stored on the original server.

 

I get an error that says document XX cannot be created on C:\ drive

Dear Experts,

We are running ERP6.0 ehp5 on Oracle 11g, in order to reduce the license we would like to migrate from Oracle to MaxDB Universal Database(Free).

Kindly suggest and share your experience with MaxDB  in terms of its performance resource usage and important of all its ADMINISTRATION to keep SAP running smooth

Sapdb studio does not start on Windows 10

Hi.

I have upgraded to windows 10 and after that sapdb studio does not start.

I have reinstalled sapdb studio. MAXDBSTDDSK7908_35-20006288.sar.  Still dbstudio won't start.

Anyone have an idea?

R3load error while exporting SAP MaxDB Database

Hi,

 

I am facing the following issue:

I tried to export a database (Unicode Migration). 111 processes of the export finished successfully, 3 finished with erros. It is the same error for 3 different tables:

 

ERROR: 2016-06-08 12:30:10 com.sap.inst.migmon.LoadTask run

Unloading of 'SAPNTAB' export package is interrupted with R3load error.

Process '/usr/sap/XXX/DVEBMGS23/exe/R3load -e SAPNTAB.cmd -datacodepage 4103 -l SAPNTAB.log -stop_on_error' exited with return code 2.

For mode details see 'SAPNTAB.log' file.

Standard error output:

sapparam: sapargv(argc, argv) has not been called!

sapparam(1c): No Profile used.

sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

sh: mc: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file

sh: error importing function definition for `BASH_FUNC_mc'

sh: mc: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file

sh: error importing function definition for `BASH_FUNC_mc'

 

I get this for SAPNTAB, SAPCLUST and SAPSDIC.

 

I've searched the SCN and several Notes, but nothing could help me.

Log Backup

Hi,

 

I have scheduled the daily Complete Data Backup through the DBACOCKPIT, and also turned on the Automatic Log Backup in the database studio. My question is can I delete the log backup generated from the automatic log backup once the daily complete data backup completed. If yes, is there any script or tool that can perform this task automatically?

Hi, I cannot find the answer for my issue. During the installation and phase 9 of 24 I get this error and I am afraid I cannot fix it on my own.

 

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :Error during execution of command identifier 'DB_CREATE' : com.sap.sdb.sllib.api.exceptions.ToolException: Error during command: C:\sapdb\programs\pgm\dbmcli.exe -R "C:\sapdb\NSP\db" db_create NSP *,* ERR -24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error Service has not been installed correctly:MAXDB: NSP Service has not been installed correctly:MAXDB: NSP (slow)).

Cannot Register Installation

HI Experts,

 

We are trying to  install Solution Manager 7.1 with MaxDb database in  distributed environment  suse linux,I am facing the issue in central  instance  at Install Database client  stage .

 

Some one please guide me how to resolve this .

Scheduled DB Backups

Hello,

 

Can someone outline the requirements / steps to setting up scheduled backups on MaxDB 7.9?

 

I believe I need to install a client on the db server and setup a remote db connection in order to create the job on the DBA Scheduling Calendar via DBACOCKPIT.

Log file recovery after restoring a snapshot online bu

Hi,

 

We are running MaxDB 7.9 on Linux.

I'm trying the following scenario:

- restore of a NetApp snapshot online backup (save warm, complete data)

  The snapshot contains everyhing: sapdata, sapdb log volumes.

- log file recovery of several log files to "roll forward" the database to a specific time or up to specific log file

   log files are restored separately

The problem is that the recovery always does something with the first log file and then opens the database

without processing the rest of the log files.

 

Please advice.

MaxDB MAXDATAVOLUME - is it possible to decrease this parameter?

Hi,

 

We have a few systems where MAXDATAVOLUME is too high:

MAXDATAVOLUME x file size is bigger than hard drive size.

 

We don't want to increase size of hard drive - because those databases are not growing fast and it would be waste of hundreds of gigabytes.

 

It is easy to increase MAXDATAVOLUME parameter - MaxDB Studio - change parameter - restart database - voila - works.

 

But is it possible to DECREASE?

 

When I have changed MAXDATAVOLUME to lower level (but still bigger than current number of active data files) and restart database - it comes back to previous (higher) value automatically.

 

Database version is: 7.8.02.41

MaxDB database studio version is: 7.9.09

Content Server size and performance

Hi,

 

Has anyone ever implemented Content Server with millions documents and over a few Terabytes of data?

I would like to know about the performance of huge Content Server - are there any performance issues?

Does it require to install multiple database instances or one can be sufficient in regard of performance?

What is the size of the biggest content repository?

Migrating MAXDB 7.7 from AIX to Windows

Hello all,

I am trying to migrate MAXDB 7.7.07.41 running on AIX server to 7.7.07.50 running on Wintel.

 

I am using loadercli to export the data and import it. Export is getting completed successfully but import failing with below error.

 

General error;-6006 PSO<14> Duplicate name.

 

I am trying to give duplicates_clause but it is not taking.

Here is my command


loadercli -d sid -u username,password -b parameter_file


Parameter file content


IMPORT DB

catalog instream file 'filename.catalog'

data instream file 'file_name.data' RECORDS

package outstream file 'import_file_name.pack' csv


EXPORT DB

catalog outstream file 'filename.catalog'

data outstream file 'file_name.data' RECORDS

package outstream file 'export_fille_name.pack' csv


Appreciate your inputs into this at the earliest
